Solar newb question! 24v panel into 12v system?

Solar newb question! 24v panel into 12v system?

Excited to finally take my electricity off grid for a tiny trailer home! Researching setups, struggling a little with details:

I've a 240w 24v panel readily available. I've two great 12v batteries. I am in the pacific northwest where full sunny days aren't the norm during winter months.

Some things I've read suggest that a 24v panel charging a 12v system may be more efficient than a 24v system when cloudy days are frequent.

12v inverters are cheaper than 24v inverters—but 24v panel for 12v system needs more expensive mppt controller for efficiency?

So, I could go with a cheaper charge controller but more expensive inverter and run a 24v system?

Which would make the most sense for PNW living?

THEN Pure sine inverter or modified wave? Charging computer and phones. Are modified wave inverters actually dangerous for our fancy (not medical) electronic devices?

Thanks, communty, for whatever guidance or suggestions you may offer!
